a conspicuous immigrant
maybe one remembersbeing wild
in a clackingfragmentarybelt—
a kinetic congressgathering
then launchingmembersendlessly away.
an unalliedmeteorevades capture
perhaps by accidenthaving missed
a long agomomentto bend into arc
with possible friends—a kernel
destinedby billiard logic
for its abrading place—the elliptic
whereonit will be chipped to bits
or the hazeit will punch through
instantsbefore burrowingdeep in slurry—
a conspicuous immigranthoned
in needlessnessto endurebeing ignored.
